Breast Cancer is the highest prevalence in Indonesia. Breast Cancer is the most malignant disease attack women.
One of the treatments to breast cancer is chemotherapy. The problem occuring to breast cancer patients is the
anxiety before undergoing chemotherapy. It is because the patients know the side effect of chemotheraphy.
Administering psychological help is suggested to decrease the anxiety. By giving finger hold therapy combined
with classical music. The research aims to find out the effect of finger hold therapy put together with classical
music towards anxiety of breast cancer patient before undergoing chemotherapy in RSUD Dr. Moewardi
Surakarta. The research design used is pre experimental design by using one group pre-test and pos-test.
Number of samples is 17 respondents. This sample is taken with purposive sampling technique pre and post
experiment collected bu using Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HRS-A) observation forms. Statistics Test
used is T pair test. Thes result of the research shows that giving finger hold therapy combined with classical
music proved effectively towards the anxiety of the breast cancer patients before undergoing chemotherapy with
p value 0,001. Therefore it is concluded that there is a difference anxiety scale before and after giving the finger
hold therapy and classical music to breast cancer patient before undergoing chemotherapy. The result of the
research can be as the intervention in giving nursing care of the breast cancer with anxiety before undergoing
chemotherapy
