Children with cancer who undergo chemotherapy have a common symptom, namely the occurrence of sleep disturbances which is one aspect that affects the poor sleep quality in children. This study aims to analyze the quality of children's sleep before and after sleep hygiene. This study is a quantitative study with a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design. The number of samples in this study were 40 respondents with data collection techniques using purposive sampling. The results showed that gender was dominated by men (55.0%), AUS age (55.0%), school education status (60.0%) and chemotherapy period length of 1-2 years (47.5%).
The pretest results showed a mean of 3.83 with an SD of 1.647 while the posttest results showed a mean of 2.33 with an SD of 1.269. Based on the
Wilcoxon test, the p value was 0.000 (p < 0.05) so it can be concluded that there is an effect of sleep hygiene on improving sleep quality in children with ALL cancer. Further research can determine the effect of sleep hygiene on the sleep quality of children with other types of cancer and add an analysis of filling a sleep diary to improve sleep quality.
